In order to effectively push forward the construction of the teaching resource bank of Applied Korean Program and facilitate joint construction and utilization of high quality informationized teaching resources, an online training session on the application of ICVE platform for the Teaching Resource Bank of Applied Korean Program at vocational education level, sponsored and chaired by Weihai Vocational College, and co-chaired by Changchun Vocational Institute of Technology, and Changzhou College of Information Technology, was held on February 5th, 2021. Over 40 teachers from co-construction colleges and representatives from co-construction enterprises attended the meeting.
Ms. Guan Shuzhen, Deputy Dean of International School of Weihai Vocational College as well as executive head of the project of Teaching Resource Bank for Applied Korean Program, presided over the meeting. She reviewed the application of the project, summarized progress achieved on the project in 2020 and put forward what’s to be done in 2021 concerning the construction of the resource bank.
In 2019, the teaching resource bank of Applied Korean Program was successfully included in the national-level teaching resource bank selection list. To further expand its presence and excel at the project application, we chose ICVE as the platform in use in April, 2020. Based on research and communication with some co-construction colleges in the previous stage, we found that the project participants had problems in using the platform. To address the problem and make full use of the ICVE platform in teaching in the new semester, our college, as the chair of this project , invited ICVE R&D and Service Center to provide this training session for all the co-construction colleges.
Ms. Liu Qian, trainer from the center, carried out the whole training combining platform demo and actual practice. The session includes four parts: introduction to the overall ICVE system, mastering the intelligent cloud module in 3 steps, the intelligent teaching operating system for ICVE, and ICVE’s role in teaching skills contests.
Ms. Liu first introduced the overall system of ICVE, which catered to the needs of the country’s reform in vocational education, its sub-modules such as specialty groups, intelligent cloud, MOOC Institute, and their corresponding roles. These helped the participating teachers get a holistic understanding of the ICVE platform, thus laying a solid foundation for the construction of the resource bank both in terms of course construction and the construction of teaching resources.
Ms. Liu then introduced and demonstrated the procedures to follow in using the intelligent cloud to construct the resource bank, which helped the trainees to quickly master its operation.
The last part included a brief introduction to ICVE’s role in teaching skills contests, followed by a Q&A session. Teachers from our college, Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College and Changchun Vocational Institute of Technology communicated with Ms. Liu concerning the construction of knowledge tree, how can completed courses be open online on the platform and the issue of intellectual property concerning the resources in use.
